Some New and Some Old!

We'll start with the OLD! Cam's birthday was two months ago, January 16th. But I just got some pics and it was to much of a party not post about. We took Cam repelling and let him invite a couple of friends...and their dads. (safety first!!!!) So after Cam's first basketball game of the season-where he made a sweet shot that should have been worth 3 if there was such a thing in his league-Ty went and got all the friends and some pizza. I headed out on a bike ride that goes right by Cougar Cliff and stopped to join them when I rode by.

We had a few that started out a little scared on their first attempt but by the end of the day they were all pro's. I think Cam and a few others went down at least 11 times! And the hike back out is not easy! It was so much fun to watch them go! And Morgan was afraid to go down without being attached to Tyler but once she figured out she was doing it herself anyway she didn't need him anymore and she just kept going!
The Birthday boy getting started above and about 1/3 of the way down below!
This is Morgan, Tyler, and I. Once I got to the bottom I spent the rest of the day on Belay watching the kids get braver and braver and faster and faster. Sometimes they would tie off in the middle and swing around. It was a seriously great time!

Friends who were there: B.J. & Connor Southwick, Andrew & Trevin Lindstrom, Eric, Shaley, Alex, & Cole Sampson!

And now for the NEW! We went skiing again on Thursday! Had to share a few more pics and milestones!
Lainee is still doing great-Grandma Kassie called her the energizer bunny with her little pink coat, and she just kept going and going. She makes me laugh so hard-she's so fearless. It took until after lunch before they opened the jump park. I was following her and she headed right in there, I'm thinking she just wanted to ski down and watch people and before I know it she's headed up a pretty big jump! She doesn't even think about it, she just see's other people do it so of course she can too. The funny part was that she didn't have enough speed so she stopped halfway up the jump and was stuck.

It had snowed about 3 feet the night before and Lainee got to close to the trees and was all of a sudden up to her waste in snow. She thought it was pretty funny until her glove came off and her hand got cold and wet really fast!

Morgan is still doing great too and just keeps getting better. My favorite part about her on Thursday was watching her with Lainee. She always stayed right by her and had her pole handy if Lainee needed a pull! She's such a great big sister! It was really fun being there with Grandma and Grandpa, Brett, Kami, Abby & Christian. Lunch is always a highlight of the day-especially when Kassie makes it, she brings all the good stuff!!!

This time we decided to take Linc along! Ty put him in a baby bjorn under his coat to keep him warm. He wasn't loving it when we got him dressed in the morning but overall he was a pretty good sport. At lunch he was happy and when he saw me he was standing up on a table and smiling and I heard my two favorite words from him right now, "Hey Mom!" I don't know why I love to hear him say that so much but I think it's so cute. He just seems big when he says it.
After lunch he fell asleep for about a half hour! Throughout the whole day Tyler had at least 4 people ask if they could take his picture and he got way more attention than he likes! But the poor baby got the saddest sunburn. We put sunscreen on him at lunch but it wasn't soon enough. He has a circle of red where his hat and binky didn't cover his face and even his eyes are sunburned. Next time-Sunglasses!!
Doesn't he look funny sitting on the chair lift! But the girls are having a great time!
Cam had a great day too. Halfway through the day we finally got rid of his straps that hold the front of his skiis together! WAHOO! After lunch he headed back out with Christian, just the two of them! Independent and loving it! I spent the last few runs of the day just with Cam going through the jump park! He does a great job! I shot a short video on my camera, for some reason the color is bad but it's still fun to watch! He's so cute!

Too Much Fun!

We've had a great week of fun and adventure! Thursday we took the kids out of school and headed up to Brianhead with Tyler's mom and dad (a.k.a. Clark & Kassie). I wasn't sure if I would be able to go but thanks to my sweet sweet mother being willing able to take the busy body Lincoln for a day, I got to spend the day with older kiddos - and I'm so glad I didn't miss it!
Morgan is such a great little skiier! After our 2nd run we took the strap off of Morgan's skiis that hold them together at the front. She was a little hesitant but did so great without them! She has such great form and by the end of the day was making great turns!
Ty had them all following behind him making wide turns across the whole mountain. It was so fun to stay at the top of the hill on my snowboard and watch my little ducks follow their daddy down the hill. (that's me in the background of this picture - the lone snowboarder)
They found a big icicle and thought it was pretty cool!

Cameron is our little adventure skiier - just like his daddy he loves to go through the jump park!He had a few good jumps and a few good wipe outs and a great attitude and kept on going!
Cameron and Grandpa Clark goofing off on the chair lift!

Lainee, Lainee, Lainee!!! Those of you who know Lainee well can predict how the day went for our fearless little girl who can do anything! She started the day out with a harness and rope on and Tyler holding the rope and guiding her down. Halfway through the 2nd run of the day she was skiing all by herself. If she fell down she got right back up! It's so fun to watch her go!!
I was so proud of all of them for their good attitudes - cuz it was cold and learning to ski is hard!!! We had such a fun day and I'll always remember it.
And I LOVE my dad's honest sense of humor! I called to check on Linc while we had lunch and told my dad I hoped Linc would take a long nap! He just says, "yeah, the longer the better for us." Then when we picked him up my dad says to Lincoln,
"thanks for coming, come again when you can't stay so long!" he he he
I know my busy little boy wears them out but he loves them so much,
and I think they kinda like him too!!!
Friday brought more fun for Ty and I! Finally time for my christmas present! Tyler had given me tickets to Jack's Mannequin for Christmas along with the documentary of the lead singer's battle with Leukemia! It was a really inspiring DVD to watch and made me love the band that much more - but they were already my favorite. We saw them 3 years ago and it was to long to wait to see them again. They are sooo good live! He plays the piano and is so talented, plus his music is just what sings to me. Some of it I can chill to, some of it I can run too, and some of it gets me pumped to get my bike up a big hill a little faster than the last time! And I can always sing a long - last night's concert was not a disappointment! I loved every single second of it!!!
At this point he wasn't so much playing his piano as jumping off of it! It was a happy crowd!
And this is the t-shirt I made to wear! "I wanna hear some music" is the first line
of my favorite?(not sure I really have a favorite) song they sing!

Oh my gosh! Am I a groupie????

Another Fun Racing Day!

Today was the Painters half marathon, 5k, and tough kids run! Most of my friends had a great day at the half-marathon! My friends are AWESOME!

I had a great time running the 5k with Bree. She did so great! She had a goal to complete the run in under 30 minutes! We ran a 29:22! When we finished she said she felt sick - I was so proud!!!

Lainee and Ellie ran the half mile tough kids run! They are so cute, about the same distance in age as Bree and I. I love watching them together! Lainee looked so cute with my hot pink super runner head band on. They had a blast!

"My" Sweet Little Ashtyn ran the 200 meter with her mom! Aren't they so cute with their medals? I love all the kids stuff St. George offers! We are so lucky to live here!
